MINDFUL

The world is such a loud place that it’s a luxury to find some silence. but even if you find that quiet sanctuary, that little voice in your head of course never shuts up. At one point you realize it’s not the noise of the world, but the noise in your head that is killing you. Your thoughts, dreams, feelings, fears and expectations. The world is loud because you let all of those touch you. In fact, you even chase after them the moment they enter your consciousness.

But don’t.

Acknowledge their presence, but let them fly by – just watch them, like passing cars on a highway. For if you ever want some silence in your head, you must learn not to jump at everything that hits you, but to stand by and be ok with that. Else, you’ll lose your sanity at one point.

Imagine how life would be different if you just completely let go. Surrender your ego. Let go of your negative thoughts, worrisome plans, and unrealistic expectations. Imagine how much more peaceful things would become.

Life would be so much simpler.

Being mindful means that we suspend judgment for a time, set aside our immediate goals for the future, and take in the present moment as it is rather than as we would like it to be.
